EARLY INTERVENTION PROGRAMS (EI) (Birth to 3 years) The EI program is designed for our youngest children with developmental delays or disabilities. Each child's program is designed and individualized to best support the overall well being of the child and the family and is available year round. - Each staff member forms a partnership with the parent(s) to foster the child's development. - Evaluations and therapeutic services can be provided in the child's home, a community setting and/or at NIS. - Services may include special instruction, speech and language therapy, physical therapy, occupational therapy, social work, audiology, and psychological counselling. - Parent education and parents support groups are available for all families. . - "Mommy & Me" programs incorporate the parent and the child along with typically developing children to provide socialization and developmentally appropriate experiences. - Toddler groups for 2 and 3 year olds are available two days per week. - All programs reflect the goals and objectives outlined on the Individual Family Service Plan (IFSP). Tuition and door-to-door transportation for children with disabilities is provided at no direct cost to parents. |
